A trip to the Rwenzoris is an exhilarating and rewarding experience but one which must be well planned. The key to an enjoyable visit is to “be prepared!” The central circuit hike takes six nights/ seven days and reaches an altitude of 14,000 ft (4,267m) above sea level. The conditions on the mountain are a challenge to even an experienced hiker.

With lush tropical rainforest and fascinating diversity of animals, Kibale National Park is one of the most beautiful and stunning forests in Uganda. Kibale forest is home to the largest number of the endangered chimpanzees in Uganda , as well as the threatened red colobus monkey and the rare L’Hoest’s monkey.

Kidepo is one of Uganda’s most spectacular parks (1,442 sq km). It harbours a scenery unsurpassed in any other park in East Africa. Tucked into the corner of Uganda’s border with Sudan and Kenya, the park offers breathtaking savannah and mountain landscapes, which end in a rugged horizon.

Lake Mburo National Park is situated in Mbarara district. It is about 3.5 hours drive from Kampala. Lake Mburo National Park is a very special place; every part of it is alive with variety, interest and colour. Lake Mburo National Park contains an extensive area of wetland and harbours several species of mammals including zebras, impalas, elands, topi and buffaloes.

Murchison Falls National Park lies at the northern end of the Albertine Rift Valley. It’s the one of Uganda’s oldest conservation areas and Uganda's largest national park that protects a portion of wild African savannah separated by the impressive river Nile.

Mt. Elgon has been an extinct volcano that first erupted more than 24 million years ago. With the largest surface area of any extinct volcano in the world (50km by 80km), Mt. Elgon is the forth highest mountain in East Africa, with the highest peak in Uganda (Wagagai peak, 4321 metres).

Queen Elizabeth National Park together with Kyambura and Kigezi Wildlife Reserves form one of the most diverse ecosystems in Africa. The melting glacier waters of the Rwenzori Mountains create a vast wetland system comprising of two main lakes, George and Edward, as well as the connecting Kazinga Channel. Thousands of hippos populate these lake shorelines.

Bwindi Impenetrable National park is situated in south Western Uganda, on the edge of the Western Rift valley (Albertine rift) and is shared by Kanungu, Kabale and Kisoro districts. It is 331km2 in size and on an altitude range of 1,160 meters (Ishasha gorge) to 2,607 meters (Rwamanyonyi Peak).

Semliki National Park is situated in the remote corner of extreme west of Uganda, in Bundibugyo District. It lies on Uganda-Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) border within the western arm of the East African Rift Valley. To the southeast are the Rwenzori Mountains, to the west is DRC and to the north Lake Albert. Semuliki National Park covers an area of 220 km2, gazetted in October 1993, is one of Uganda's newest National Parks.

Sharing a border with neighbouring Congo(Parc National des Virunga) and Rwanda(Parc National des Volcans),Mgahinga is the country's smallest national park and protects the Ugandan part of the 'Virunga mountains;a range of extinct and active Volcanoes that straddle the border.
