Safari accommodation is not only conveniently located both inside and outside of the National Parks some of the hotels and lodges are situation in amazing locations, for example on an island in the River Nile in Jinja. overlooking the River Nile in Murchison Falls National Park. perched on top of a series of hills overlooking crater lakes in Fort Portal, on the banks of the Isshasha River in Queen Elizabeth National Park and deep in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.
Have a look below to see that types of accommodation you will find in the different National Parks in Uganda.
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
There are 4 Sectors of Bwindi. 2 in the North ( Buhoma and Ruhija ) and two in the south ( Nkuringo and Rushaga ). You cannot drive from north to south or vice versa, but you are able to drive from east to west or vice versa. Kihihi Airstrip serves the North and Kisoro Airstrip serves the south. This means that if you choose a lodge in the north you can’t visit a gorilla family in the south and if you choose a lodge in the south you can’t visit a gorilla family in the north. There are a number of different lodges in Bwindi spread out over the 4 sectors, click on the button below to find out more.

Mgahinga National Park
Mgahinga National Park is right on the Uganda / Rwanda boarder and gets is fair share of tourists who have landed in Kigali and cross the boarder to Gorilla Trekk in Uganda. This part of Uganda is made famous by Dian Fossey who used to stay there to write up her Gorilla Research. Whilst many tourists will stay in Kisoro Town and travel to the National Park to Gorilla Trekk, there are also great lodges closer to the National Park.

Murchison Falls National Park
Uganda historically has two seasons, a rainy and a dry season. There are two dry seasons which lend themselves to being good times for chimpanzee trekking and gorilla trekking:
-
December to February,
-
June to September,
Game drives are good in the dry season as well as in March, September and October
There are also two rainy seasons, where trekking is made more difficult but animals are still clearly visible during the early or later parts of the rainy season when the vegetation is not in full bloom.
-
March to May
-
October to November
Temperatures range between 24°C-30°C all year round but it does get chilly at night on account of the altitude so a fleece is always recommended for the evenings.
