Coffee in Uganda

Most people don't think that Uganda is a major coffee producing country, but Uganda is the 8th largest coffee producer in the world. Coffee in Ugandan is grown in the Central, Western, South-Western, Northern and Eastern regions. Coffee growing in Uganda in is unique in that both types of coffee (Robusta and Arabica) are grown.  Coffee is a major crop in Uganda, employing about 1.7 million smallholder farmers who either specialise in coffee growing or intercrop the coffee with other crops.
